Whilst all their products are organic, they have their skincare range and some of their oils certified with ACO (Australia Certified Organic). They are against animal testing, making sure that neither the finished product nor the individual ingredients have ever been tested on an animal. Springfields uses only botanical ingredients, 100% organic, pure essential oils (certified where possible) and cold pressed oils to nourish and protect the skin. Springfields do not use parabens, sulphates, artificial fragrances, colours, synthetic ingredients, fillers or animal ingredients, making their products vegan as well. You can be sure when you purchase a Springfields product that you are purchasing a quality item that is good for your body.
Can I ingest Springfields Essential Oils? Whilst Springfields sources the finest quality essential oils, it is important to know that the oils are many times stronger and highly concentrated than the plants they are derived from. These essential oils are certified organic and 100% pure and these essential oils can be used in many different therapeutic ways (inhalation, massage, skincare preparations, bath and compress) however, we do not recommend ingesting essential oils without consulting a professional who has suitable training in either pharmacology, physiology, aromatherapy chemistry, medical herbalism or a GP.
The issue is not the quality of the essential oil (there is no such thing as a ‘therapeutic grade’), nor is one brand of essential oil safe to ingest over another. The issue is the fact that without proper training or knowledge, ingesting essential oils can cause serious health complications. We understand that there are some companies advertising the fact that their oils can be ingested, however, we feel this is irresponsible. Without knowing someone’s health, both present and historically and what medications they are on, no company can accurately advise a client on what oils to ingest and in what quantities. This can only be done in a clinical setting by a qualified practitioner. True essential oils are extremely potent and as with anything ingested, certain amounts and certain oils can be hazardous including but not limited to burning your oesophagus and damaging or putting undue stress on internal organs such as the liver and kidneys. Please, regardless of the brand you are using, seek the advice of a professional as listed above before ingesting.
Are the Springfields Certified Organic Essential oils water soluable? The quick answer is no. No pure Essential oil is water soluble. To create a water soluble oil the oil must be rectified and have a solublising agent added (making it no longer pure). Most fragrant oils are water soluble, however, if you come across an Essential oil that claims to be ‘water soluble’ you can be guaranteed it isn’t pure. You can add an Essential oil dispersant yourself. Springfields have a naturally derived dispersant that is made from coconut and almond oil. Click here to read more.
